Norfolk & Norwich Festival 2010

Midas were delighted to continue our relationship with the Norfolk and Norwich Festival 2010. Artistic Director Jonathan Holloway and his dedicated team have done a stunning job over the last few years which was reflected in an amazing increase of festival goers this year, an estimated 278,000 people over sixteen heady days sampled the very best in music theatre, dance, circus and visual arts in the beautiful city of Norwich.

An intensive programme saw Midas supplying power generation mains and distribution over a number of sites across the entire festival run, The Spiegeltent on Chapelfield Gardens was home to a sensational line up of circus, music, cabaret and burlesque late into the night complimented by a packed family programme during the day. Across the park Circus Ronaldo wowed audiences in the intimate setting of there own big top. A world premiere of Bird and Fire from acclaimed French pyrotechnic company Ephemere on Earlham Park, and across the city on Eaton Park with No Fit State circus certainly kept Midas busy with a wide range of machines and equipment in use pretty much 24/7 for the duration.

Tim Etchells Neon Sign - WAIT HERE I HAVE GONE TO GET HELPVisual Arts was a new major addition to the programme this year, a particular favourite of ours was Tim Etchells Neon Signs (pictured right). A series of neon signs dotted in unexpected places around the city spelling out simple phrases, messages and instructions. Technically not under our remit which I think made them all the more absorbing when discovered.
